This page includes information specific to the YODO Chrome Extension.

What the extension does

YODO turns your online shopping into clean water at no extra cost by using affiliate links. When you shop at partner stores, a commission may be generated and YODO allocates it to fund access to safe drinking water projects.

Data the extension processes

• Browsing history (URLs/domains):
  • Used to (1) display “most visited sites” on YODO’s New Tab using the Chrome topSites permission, and (2) detect when you visit a partner store to show an activation popup.
  • The extension does not read page content such as checkout forms, passwords, or payment details.

Affiliate links and third parties

When you click “Activate and continue” on a partner store, the extension may redirect you to an affiliate link or add tracking parameters so the purchase can be attributed. In that process, the affiliate network may receive the destination URL and standard technical data (e.g., IP address, user-agent, referrer) required for commission tracking.

Local storage

The extension stores minimal information locally on your device (e.g., impact counters and a flag to avoid showing the popup repeatedly). This is not sold and is not used for behavioral advertising.

What we do NOT do

• We do not sell personal data.

• We do not use data for personalized advertising.
