This page includes privacy information specific to the YODO Chrome Extension.
YODO (“YODO”, “we”, “us”) provides a browser extension that replaces the browser’s New Tab page with a personal dashboard featuring search, quick links, tasks, weather, clocks, browsing activity statistics and clean-water impact metrics.
YODO replaces your browser’s New Tab page with a personal productivity and digital wellbeing dashboard.
The dashboard may include:
YODO may also display contextual advertising and optional affiliate partner offers. Revenue generated through these features helps support YODO and fund clean-water projects.
Most YODO features operate locally in your browser. Depending on the features you use, YODO may store:
This locally stored information is not sold. Clearing the extension’s storage or uninstalling YODO removes information stored locally by the extension.
YODO uses Chrome tab permissions to provide tab activity and clean-water impact statistics.
For this purpose, YODO may process:
YODO does not store the complete browsing URL, page title or page content as part of its tab statistics.
Tab activity statistics may be stored locally for up to 90 days.
YODO may also use Chrome’s topSites functionality to import frequently visited websites as Quick Links. When imported, the website title and URL are stored locally so the shortcut can be displayed.
YODO does not sell browsing activity or use browsing activity to create behavioral advertising profiles.
YODO may use pseudonymous analytics to understand how the extension is used, measure clean-water impact, maintain the service and improve its features.
When analytics is enabled, information may include:
YODO does not send complete browsing history, page content, passwords, payment details or search queries to its analytics system.
Analytics can be disabled from YODO’s settings. Minimal events relating to a user’s privacy choice may be processed in order to record and respect that choice.
YODO uses backend infrastructure provided through Supabase to operate features such as analytics, remote configuration, impact metrics, advertising configuration and the photo feed.
YODO may display contextual advertising provided by AdsOnBread.
The AdsOnBread SDK stores a randomly generated pseudonymous token and a 24-hour expiration time in local extension storage.
While the token remains valid, AdsOnBread may receive:
AdsOnBread may also derive an approximate country from the network request.
This information is used for ad delivery, frequency management, billing accuracy and fraud prevention.
AdsOnBread advertising is contextual. YODO does not provide browsing history to AdsOnBread for behavioral advertising, retargeting or cross-site profiling.

YODO may work with selected affiliate partners, including travel, shopping and other online services.
On supported partner websites, YODO may detect the website domain and current URL in order to determine whether a YODO partner offer is available and display an optional activation message.
YODO does not read checkout forms, passwords, payment information or the contents of private forms on these websites.
If you choose to activate a YODO affiliate offer, you may be redirected through a YODO or affiliate tracking link. The destination website or affiliate provider may receive information normally associated with an online referral, including:
These partners process information under their own privacy policies.
Affiliate commissions may be used to support YODO and fund clean-water projects. Activating an affiliate offer does not increase the price charged to you by YODO.
YODO allows users to search directly from the New Tab page.
When you submit a search, the search query is sent to the search engine you choose or to the browser’s default search provider.
If search suggestions are enabled, text being typed may be sent to the relevant suggestion provider, such as Google, DuckDuckGo or Bing, in order to retrieve suggestions.
YODO does not send the content of your search query to its own analytics system.
Third-party search engines process searches according to their own privacy policies.
YODO provides optional weather functionality.
If you allow browser location access, your latitude and longitude may be used to retrieve your local weather and determine a human-readable location.
YODO may use:
Coordinates or location queries may therefore be sent to these services when required to provide the weather feature.
You can also manually select a location instead of using your current location.
YODO may provide background images through a YODO-managed photo feed.
Some images or photography information may originate from third-party photo providers such as Unsplash. Loading an externally hosted image may cause the image provider to receive standard network information such as an IP address and browser information.
Your favorites and personal background preferences are stored locally.
Information is processed only where necessary to:
Where applicable law requires consent for a particular type of processing, YODO relies on that consent. You may withdraw consent for optional analytics from YODO’s settings.
YODO only shares information when necessary to operate the features described in this policy.
Depending on the features you use, recipients may include:
YODO does not sell user data to these parties.
Information stored only in your browser generally remains there until it expires automatically, you remove or reset it, you clear extension storage, or you uninstall YODO.
Specific local retention periods may include:
Pseudonymous server-side information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including service operation, impact reporting, security and aggregated analytics.
Information may be anonymized or aggregated so that it can no longer reasonably be linked to an individual installation.
Some of YODO’s service providers may process information in countries outside your country of residence.
Where required by applicable data-protection law, YODO takes appropriate measures to ensure that such transfers are protected by suitable legal safeguards.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning your personal data, including the right to:
Because much of YODO’s information is stored only locally and uses pseudonymous identifiers, YODO may not always be able to identify a particular user from server-side information alone.
